Hi,
I think I've read all the FAQ's and stickys, but still having problems. I have a DP301-13 Single TSOP IRD. It has been VID Modded, and had the TSOP, BOX KEYS, and IRD Number all properly detected and backed up by JKEYS. I then wrote 0000 at 7FFFFFAC and verified that is was written. When i use CEMU, I will get the dish pointing screen, with the ERROR 349 saying i am using an incompatible version of the smart card for this receiver, but I have verified my VID Mod. What is even stranger, is i use a CEMU that comes with a true BEV bin, I will get the Bell Express VUE dish pointing screen instead of the DISH Pointing screen, but with the BEV bin, I will not get the 349 Error... I am really hopeing someone out there can help... or at least point me in the right direction. Thanks in Advance. |

Answer to my own question. The receiver that you are doing the Vid Mod and changeing address 7FFFFFAC contents to 0000, cannot be a virgin receiver as I had. It has to have taken that initial update from the stream that happens after you go through the dish pointing menus .... THEN flip your vid mod switch, change the contents of 7FFFFFAC to 0000, and voila, the 349 Nag is gone. This little point is usually left out of the info I have found, probably because most people are not modding a brand new receiver right out of the box I guess. |

Virgin software p058 does this making you think the vid mod did not work, Once the ird is stream updated it works fine. P056 and P057 do not do this, New P058 plays with ya!!!

Another thing seemed odd, with the vid mod location modified, the receiver would not take an update. Even after reflashing the tsop with my backup. Only after restoring my tsop AND eeprom to virgin backups, would it take an update ... heheh, but you know, it works great now with emulation, and though it was harder to do than dave, I like charlie better ! |
