Hex File to load onto Max/Mel
Hi,
I've just finished building the Max/Mel board. I have a few question, please! 1) It's a Echostar 3700, If I used onboard VCC (not directly at the card), I get color screen flashing and nothing else. I tried external 5V and it turns on as normal. Anybody has a 3700? Where do you get your VCC for the board? 2) What hex file do you load on the atmel chip? Could you point me to where to get it, please? I had 381, 380 from m24c. 3) Do I have to do anything special before loading the hex to the chip? That's all for now. Lots more to come but one step at a time. Thanks. |

If you have an old HU unlooper laying around find ufp16.zip, it will let you program your atmel via the serial port and unlooper while in windows. Actually quite cool. At least some of that old Dave stuff laying around is still getting _some_ use. |

1. After you hook up your HU unlooper, just for grins, run Extreme HU, and look at that message at the bottom of the screen. If the HU unlooper is connected properly then you'll know, if you see in red COM failure, Device not detected, no need to go any farther, till you get Extreme HU seeing your unlooper again. This way you have at least eliminated 1/2 the problem if something isn't working .... 2. The default timings didn't allow me to fully program an atmel. Only after adjusting them did it work, just read the text file that comes in the zip. After 3 or 4 adjustments, my atmels were being programmed with out errors. In one of my screen shots, you will see the timings i used. The machine they worked on is a P4 2.4 Ghz running XP Pro. GOOD LUCK !!!! |

If you have Windows ME or 98, you probably can just click the file and program it directly from window. It works fine for me. I doubt it'll work on XP or 2K though.
