My colleague believes that there are two key files that may need to be edited to accomplish this task: the ROM3.bin file and a file named DN380.bin. My colleague believes that the ROM3.bin file is a raw image of the virgin Blue access card and that the DN380.bin is the file offering conditional access to the DishNetwork channels.

My colleague believes that the ROM3.bin file does not require editing, but, remains curious and wishes to learn where instructions can be found to create that file from scratch.

Furthermore, my colleague believes that a "patch" can be applied to the dish380.bin to open 492 and 496. My colleague would like to find instructions explaining how to do that and, also, instructions on how to build a dish380.bin file from scratch.

By the way, my colleague has seen the second file named dn381.bin and dn382.bin, etc.. What is the significance of the 380, 381 and 382 nomenclature?

By the way, does anyone know of or have experience with a reputable dealer selling the Dish EMU Platinum card? Also, where can a generic external emu be purchased for use with CEMU

Thank you, in advance, for any assistance.

JD

Hope this is a good colleague. The answer to your last question would be satemu dot com. Little new to this myself, bu tI would be interested in finding out the answer to your other questions myself.

Not sure what you're using but I am using cemu and max/mel. I don't think you need to edit rom3.bin, It might be the virgin bin or parts of the bin that unchanged. DN380.bin is the file which contains cam ID, box key, tiers and other changed information. I could be wrong but that what I do with my system. Use Nagra Edit to edit the DN380.bin (you can use the same patches using for rom3 card). Then use the new file.

DN380, 381, 382 is the different revision (or blocking mechanism) of ROM3 cards which doesn't matter because they can't update the DN380. You can use any revision and it'll works just fine, 382 is the latest for rom3.

Could you elaborate in some detail about editing the tiers in Nagra.

Here's the info on how to make patches for tiers and PPV, you can use the patches posted by Birdie, works great as of today, got most, if not all on my system from 119 Sat.

http://www.dssftp.com/forum/upload/s...ad.php?t=18045

After getting the patch, open dn380.bin with NE. Patch the new file on to the bin then change boxkey, cam ID, public keys, IRD # to yours. NE save the file under .ne3 so just change it back to dn380.bin or whatever you want then place the new file to the file in emu directory. If you name something else other than dn380.bin, remember to change the cemu.ini accordingly.

Don't think that's really what I'm looking for. Let me be a little more specific. I have a good working bin that I am using in Cemu. I would like to add Austin, San Anotnio, and Dallas locals to it.

I donot care for locals so I dont know much about it. But if you search in rom3 programming forum, you should find some info about creating a patch for locals. My guess is getting local tiers and write your own tier. Good luck.

Put this TIERLIST.txt in the same folder as your NE4. Run NE4, open your bin. Click on TIERS. You'll see two parts. The top part are the tiers available from the TIERLIST (Master), the bottom part is the tiers that your bin currently has. Just drag and drop the ones you want from the top to the bottom part. You can also hilite and delete the tiers you don't want. But don't forget to click defrag to get rid of the «holes» in the bin, because there only a certain limited amount of space available in your bin. Then save your bin. By the way you have to scroll pretty low to find your locals like Dallas. Enjoy.
