Scam Sites

Recently there have been a few scam sites set up (satthouse.com, p4now.com, etc) who are claiming to have a P4/P5 hack. If you check the DNS you will see that a lot of them use moohaha.net as the DNS. That's your instant tip-off. This company produces Web Site in a Box. You go into any computer store, buy a fairly cheap software package and presto you have a web site.

The best bet is to wait till a reputable source verifies the claims but even then you should still wait a bit. We will probably all remember Snatty over at a very reputable site who was scammed by the 3moffshore scumbags into verifying an activation when it turned out to be nothing but a sub with a stolen credit card.

If you can't wait, you can always do a bit of snooping on your own. Just go to register.com and use the Whois at the top of the screen. Look for recently registered domains (satthouse.com was registered June 15th 2004). If it smells fishy, it IS fishy.

He wasn't scammed ??? They gave him a freebee to spread the word about their product, never once did Snatty ever say it was worth tossing your money at, and just recently all his statements about that so called fix, which were assumptions on what and how they were making there product work, came true... It didn't cost him a penny, no scam, atleast for him. I'm sure there have been many others who jumped on the band waggon and got taken ( a fool and his money ).

But your point about waiting until a reputable source verifies a working hack is right on the money. If those at Snatty's site had done just that (waited for his full and final word on the product) no one would have been taken for anything.

He wasn't scammed? Are you nuts? He was totally scammed. He helped lend credibility to 3moffshore. They had a direct link from their site to his review. He helped them sell lots and lots of product. He gave them a 5 out of 5 stars for customer service. The only thing he didn't do was give them a f*cking blow job and make them breakfast!

actually what he gave them was C/P: From Snatty at his site
Quote:
My review

Product: 2 / 5
Support: 5 / 5
Price: 2 / 5
And of course he got superior service... They wanted something from him...

He went on to say the following :
Quote:
---------
Insert my speculation as to what happened here.

I gave them my cam id so that they could somehow activate my card. My guess is they would call dtv
order a package on my card and then cancel it within a day or two. This sounds like a big job to
do if they have lots of customers.

Once my card got activated I put in the unit which is basically a no745 board which tells the IRD
im using a different CAM. Since the package will be cancelled, EOS packets will come down. But
receiver doesn't know my real CAM ID because of the no745 board so it will ignore the EOS packets.

Now what happens when the tiers expires? I'm guessing that they are pointing these boards
to a platinum sub camid so it continues to receive all channels. Problem here is if DAVE gets ahold of the
unit it could cause trouble for the cam being used. I'm still not 100% sure on what the deal is
with the cam they are using to get the latest tiers or if it even gets the latest tiers. You will
have to wait 55 days before I can tell you that for sure :P.

The PPV wipe isnt out yet but once it does I will have a review for that.

----------
So if you were paying attention you probably could have called dave yourself and with the use of a no745 board you could save yourself some money and trouble.

And one last note... Snatty did say
Quote:

His first post was April 21st his update post was June 21st . thats what 62 days... If you didn't wait then you've got no one but yourself to blame.

P.S. I'm done defending Snatty, if anyone else wants to add something then take it to Snatty's site and we can continue the conversation. Bottom line.. Hopefully we've all learned a little something and most importantly of all... Hang on to hope, believe with all your might... but for god's sake stay patient.

Happy Testing

If he thought it was a scam site, why would he give them 5 out of 5 on Support? What scammers deserve a 5 out of 5 on anything except for perhaps coming up with new methods of stealing your money? What scammer deserves a multi-page review in the first place???? Why would he loan his good name to any kind of scam?

The fact is that he thought it was a legit activation. Sure after that he put on more stuff starting to express his doubts and now that the card is dead he has posted the info.

Don't get me wrong - Snatty is one of the good ones. He's smart and he's honest. But he DID get scammed and it DID cost his site a lot of credibility. If Snatty reviews another P4 hack, will you be sending them money or will you be waiting for others to review it first?

Snatty's review helped bilk a pile of people out of a lot of money and gave credibility to some nasty scammers.

Hey... I don't blame the guy. I would have been scammed too. Then again, I'm an idiot and I get scammed all the time. I don't pretend to be an expert and I sure as hell don't want people to spend money based on what I say. All I'm saying is that even when a trusted name reviews a product you should STILL wait for a while to see what's going on.

Well I must say that I don't go over there that much but I did see a lot of posts all over the net from other people who were from there making big claims. That in turn made alot of other people get scammed that wasn't even a member there to begin with. Scammed,.. maybe,..maybe not... but I believe he did jump the gun little.

Potential Scam Alert:
I was emailed by a site that I believed to be legitimate--Dish-Formula. Saying that they now have "Phase 1" of the P4/P5 hack. First since I no longer test Dave, I don't have any interest and second, they're asking for payment and registration at their site in order to qualify to buy this miraculous cure.

Is anyone checking them out? Are these people still legit or have they just gotten frustrated and desperate for funds, and therefore resorted to scamming their Dave starved clientele.

Someone please check this out as I would like to think that someone legitimate remained that way instead of giving in to temptation and going for the quick buck.

Cool

Shit! if it is that easy, I think I'll set up my own scam site and collect a few hundred k and then vanish. I wonder what having a few hundred k to work with would be like. I can see myself on the beach in mexico sipping a daquri and reading the paper, my assistant keeps saying si senoir, si senoir, hahahah lmao!!

I was emailed again this morning. Either these guys have a real crappy advertising department or they're real desperate. I don't know but it feels a lot more like desperation than ignorance. BTW others on this site are seeing the same thing and are asking about it.

Me--Charlie tests out just fine thank you. Better porn, and best of all: MY WIFE DOESN'T LIKE IT, CAUSE SHE CAN'T FIND HER FAVOURITES!!! (I Know where they are, I'm just not telling)
