I don't know what site you are referring at, all I got was the phone#. I suggest you do research any place before giving them your sensitive info though. Please let me know either way.

Credit bureau information
It's not a scam, but it IS bogus. Insurers, lenders, etc "prescreen" individuals...that is, they get basic information that has always been available from credit reporting firms to determine if you are a prospect for their product. If you would like to "opt-out" in order to reduce the volume of your junk mail and e-mail, you can call that toll-free number. But there is no July 1 deadline...that part of the deal is fake. Direct from the Better Business Bureau. Click this link....

No problem, Mili
Hey, there IS some benefit to it...just not as much as the e-mail promised. Yea, I did, Cojones...wish now I hadn't ....but in reading several internet articles, I'm convinced it's not an identity theft scam. It's just that somebody blew it up bigger than it should have been....but as I said, it should cut down on the amount of junk mail you receive.
Here's a deal that's NOT bogus....Congress has passed an anti-telemarketing measure that allows you to remove your name from a national list...they claim 80 percent of all telemarketing calls to your home will cease. The only exceptions are political polls, charities and companies that you have done telemarketing business with before. You may put your name on this list...good for 5 years....by logging on to www.donotcall.gov If you live west of the Mississippi river, you can get on the list now. They're busy as hell today, so it may take awhile to log on. By July 7, the entire United States will be eligible. Again, this is in today's news...nothing fake about it. As for me, if it stops one call, it will be worth the trouble. The service costs nothing. Mili, thanks for the warning...better safe than sorry. No harm done, and there is some benefit to be gained....maybe you could just reword your post a bit.... ![]()

Nice idea a do not call list. But won't the
telemarkerters just move the operations overseas where the law can't be enforced. t160hq |
