Up here in Canada it's "Canoles” We’ve got one chick at work (and she's 100% OK with us referring to her as a chick), she refers to the testes and scrota collectively as "The Winnebago"

I've told her that when referring to mine, she should really use "Prevost" and that would be more fitting in my case. Although she says Not Likely. She is truly a fine Chick.

As for "onehuglow's" post, I agree totally but on different terms. The media in both our countries, are far more interested in sensationalizing anything to sell a fucking newspaper or advertising time (Air as it's referred to in the industry) than they are about serious journalism. Just because some Stupid Fucking Minister or Member of Parliament says something stupid about an American, or vise versa, the media thinks that they need to report that, because we are interested. If some Government Official or any individual can only come up with a mindless piece of shit (like the one in question) I have no desire to listen to it, or read it, because I know if that's the best a person can come up with, they've got nothing. I have no problem with the use of the words fuck or shit, what I have a problem with is Stupid people saying stupid things.

American and Canadian Culture is going to remain different for a very long time. I love and hate things about both our cultures and countries.

You know why Canada's Armed Forces are seen all over the world as peace keepers??? cause that's ALL we can do with our current military resources.

I sure hope that terrorist’s don't ever attack some large downtown Toronto building...you know why? Two reasons. 4x4...There's no need to apologize here from what I've seen, we all seem to be able to respect each others view, we may not agree, and thats OK, we still can accept and respect each others views. THAT'S WHAT'S REALLY Imoprtant here. I to do not like the prospect of War, but I think the ball is in motion and there may be no other way out at this point. I am a liberal, but on this issue, I am in agreement with George Bush, he may be a moron, but he has some very bright people advising him. Hope I didn't sound as if I was making light of onehunglow's essay. It did make me laugh at myself, and laugh in general- like the comments about the beer, and the fact that though the US comes on as being perfect and almighty to some, we're not, we're just folks like our Canadian neighbors. If a man can laugh at his mistakes occasionally, he's better off for it and maybe, just maybe, he won't repeat the same mistakes.
I am a proud Texan, and a conservative Republican. But I sometimes wish they'd start a COMMON SENSE party. As to the war in Iraq, fellas, I've been in the middle east, and I've seen how they react to Americans. Most of 'em hate us. Why? It sure as hell ain't because they've been here and seen things for themselves, it's because the government-controlled media spews propaganda at 'em 24/7. And because the United States is the world's only remaining superpower. I don't mean superior, I just mean superior power. We're gonna remain in the world's crosshairs for as long as we have that power. Fanatics like Bin Laden and his goons' only purpose in life is to die as martyrs for allah, to punish anyone who doesn't share their beliefs,and don't forget the 72 virgins. Iraq war or no Iraq war, the terrorism ain't gonna quit. These nuts see the US as the antithesis to everything they believe in, and it'll never quit unless someone knocks us off the top rung and then the new big dog will become the new target of aggression. And the way things are going, if this country destructs, I hope it's not at our own hand.
COMMON SENSE tells me that Iraq should police itself- if 20 million people don't like the way 200-300 goons are running the place, let 'em revolt and run the SOB's off. The US really needs to work on serious problems of its own and quit trying to be the world's watchdog. But REALITY makes it different. 9/11 made it obvious that there are international enemies out there that will stop at nothing to destroy FREEDOM, not just Americans. I am familiar with the Bush family. My Dad was a very active Republican campaign manager years ago, on a local and state level. George Bush Sr. has eaten dinner in our house. They're good people, and they're not morons. George W. took 9/11 and everybody/everything about it personal, as an attack on his people. It don't make a fat rat's ass about Florida and hanging chads, he's the cat at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and he just decided that America has had enough.
Now the REAL moron is that idiot in Iraq. He can stay rich, stay powerful, singlehandedly stop the war and gain at least a little respect all in one package, but the sonofabitch is too big of a self-appointed know-it-all to pull it off.
Now, all of that being said, personally I wish they'd resolve it peacefully. I wish Hussein would just hit the road, start hacking cards or something. I wish his own people would rise up and run him out, or kill him outright. I wish Bush hadn't gone so far that even if he thought it best, it's now almost impossible to back up. I wish a lot of common-sense things, but the reality of it is that war's almost a certainty, and we'll pay a price, no doubt. I damn sure don't like it. But sitting on our asses is even worse. Indifference will cost us even more.
As to our friends in Canada- and not just my dss friends, all of you-your input is valued and appreciated. Sometimes Americans don't see the reality of a situation because we're too closely involved- and I think that applies to almost anything. On the other hand, maybe being on the sidelines as Canadians are to an extent, it's not as deeply personal as it is to us. I'll support this country and what it stands for, although I don't always like or agree with everything it does. I know our northern brothers and sisters feel the same way. .....the land of lawyers and the cheesesteak.. mornin' to ya. Old FA got a little peeved - no, a bunch peeved. He first blabbed that I'd tried to lure him away, which I did by PM, until a few people let me know how worthless he really is. I registered over there only about 2 weeks ago, mainly to browse around and chat with some folks. I've always used Mili's files , have for several months now. Anyway, I didn't know him well, some of his posts looked like he was trying to help out- the bosses weren't telling anybody anything and all their new bins/3m's were giving everybody fits. The newbies that weren't familiar with alternative means to deal with it were freakin' out. I got on there and told 'em how the cow ate the cabbage, in a respectful way, and FA blasted back, threatened to put my PM on the post (and would have if one of the mods hadn't stopped it), told me to shove it up my ass, announced that he told me to shove the invite up my ass which was a lie- I heard that he was actually interested until he had a chance to strut around in front of everybody and flame me.
Then in his next post he got real teary, real martyr-like, "all I've ever done is try to return to the community what it's given to me"..gimme a damn break. One of the members, who I found out is actually a minority partner in the ownership of the site, flamed me pretty good and then someone else got on and insulted him. I got several PM's from folks cheering me for having some nuts, a couple wanted to know where I was hanging, I never told 'em. One of them was randy25- do you know him? I made that mistake with FA, 4x warned me what a goon he is, so I stopped the invites. Like 4x says, we don't need the chaff over here- and he's right. The whole thing looked like a soap opera. But, you know, I'll bet you four dollars to a dog turd that it made some of 'em think! That was the whole point in the first place. I wasn't whining, I sure as hell wasn't trying to get in their good graces, and I'm not interested in hanging out and being everyone's bud over there. I'll stay here, where folks tell it like it is, even if it stings a little on occasion. No BS - only way to go.
