Model 1000 IRD
A friend asked if i could have a look at his 1000 IRD. I have not seen it but i think it has no jtag port. is there one on the circuit board or do i have to find another route such as voltmeter method

There is no jtag on 1***,prefered method for retrieving boxkeys is to remove tsop and have it read by a dealer.....my opinion is that it's not worth the time or money, better to upgrade and go and get a 31**.

The 1000 are older. If the CAM is original, chances are it's a ROM2 or ROM3. The boxkeys can be read off the CAM (if it's unlocked). If it's locked, send it to a dealer to be opened, then read the boxkeys.

of course the cam is locked. he already plugged it in and told me the rev #. and no i will not send it to a dealer. that is not even almost an option. no trails. besides i have plenty of open cards.

Anyways you can still put cam in ird without the sat cable hooked up and this will tell you the rev of cam without having to worry that the cam is locked.... |

ok guys i guess i have been unclear. I know that the card is locked. he already read me the rev # from the sys info screen. Then he told me that it was subbed until last month. At that time i told him i would not be able to get b-keys from card and would he tell me what model it is. "1000" he says. I say "well I am not certain, but i think it has no jtag port. His unit has been in the stream, subbed, for years. i just wondered if i should tell him we need to look for another IRD for him.I apologize for not being clear as to what i needed. I need to jtag it or replace it.

Well let's be really clear about .
1000 you can't jtag. Replace it is the best option for both of you,he'll be happy. His card will most probably be at Rev A3D.Shelve it and wait. |
