Configuring COM port for Nagraedit??
Somewhere I saw some information about com port settings to use with Nagraedit, but cannot remember where. I read my card a few nights ago and it took 3 attempts before it finally read without an error, and it took 5-10 minutes to finish.
Is this normal behavior, or do I need to change some settings??? |

Those match my settings. For some reason I have been getting read and write errors when accessing my ROM 3. If everything is setup and working correctly, how long should it take to read the .bin into memory???

I seem to have it working, but it takes a very long (5 - 7 minutes) time to read or write the card.
I am using a modified DAVE programmer. I replaced the crystal with the 3.68*** MHz. What else should I check??? |

I use a dual programmer. Has a crystal for both dave and charlie. A jumper is used to change bewteen the crystals. I have never had a cam that took more than seconds to read. Although once a cap went bad on the programmer filtering a pin on the 232 ic on the programmer. When if first started going bad I was getting bad reads from the cam. 2 to 3 tries to get a good read on the cam. Later when it shorted it wouldn't even id the card.

That must be the problem. Don't know any other testers in my area, and am not serious enough (yet!!) to order new hardware.
I'll keep plugging away. It seems to be reading/writing Ok, but just very slowly (lots of retries!!). Thanks, guys!!! |
