By-pass video lockout...Alpine monitor??

Have an Alpine TME-M790 monitor......does anyone have a way to defeat the video lockout, (so passenger can view a DVD while driving).....tried appling power to the foot brake and hand brake wires (in a certain sequence) as stated in the manual but N.G.

Any suggestions??

Thanks

First, thanks for the reply....now... I have a:

yellow/blk wire to foot brake lead
yellow/blu wire to parking brake lead

By e-brake, (emergency Brake?) do you mean the parking brake?

Thanks again

According to the Alpine website, there is a sequence involved. Fist of all, they are both positive input, not negative. Grounding them DOESN'T work. The brake light input wire must be powered. Then, power the parking brake input. remove power from the parking brake wire. Then, remove power from the brake light input. You will have to do this everytime the key is cycled, so you might want to hook it up as outlined in the Alpine manual. Go to:
www.alpine.com for info.

Thanks Larry....using two switches I got it to work......am now getting a gizmo called a pac-tr7 module which will provide the proper imput to the leads.
