terminator

Sorry I didn't answer your PM I read it but my puter burped & lost it. Go to cardcoders. org search under terminator typhoon there is web site listed with excellent pictures & data. I did change one thing, used 2.2k resistor instead of pot. See ya. PM me if you need more.

Pic. 2 shpws that on chip # 74HC00 you must cut the trace between 1 & 2and between 2& 4 [in front of 3 ]. Also lift or cut off leg #1 [ I cut it off ]. Also I used a 2.2k resistor instead of a pot. I have lost the how to that came with these pic's, look at # 3 the wire that goes over the side goes to the leg you lifted on 74CH00. And the 2 blue dots are for the switch.

Any thing I can do, hollar Rehash

Cool

Never seen a ver 2 but the chip layout is the same as my terminator typhoon 5 switch. If you use the generic guide you could meter it out and get it to work. Also clockspeed has some simplified directions(for typhoon) over at Rom10x. Modded mine and its working touchy on the adjustment of the pot but popped several in under 2 minutes each after some tweaking.

yep and it is a t5 terminator/typhoon 5 switch.

Clockspeed...'s Notes To Mod A T-5 Terminator Typhoon 5 Dipswitch Model:

This model of T5 has four surface mt chips on the reverse side, 2 74hc74's(u4 unused here, u10 this one we mod) and 2 74hc42 (u5 unused, u9 unused). The top side of the board has all dip mounted chips, the atmel is socketed. All of the semiconductors are labelled on the board.

I included a stock pinout for a 74hc00, which is missing from the full "Guide to Mod Any Unlooper", included on the picture are the stock hookups to the chip. I also included pics of my modded unlooper (Messy huh?!?)

I cut the trace running from pin #9 of the 74hc74 (u10) to pin #12 of the 74hc00.

I cut the trace between the max232-pin10 (u6) and atmel-pin18 (u8).

I cut the trace between the jumper block and pin#9 of the 74hc00 (u2)

On the 74hc00n (u2) i cut pin 1 bent it up and connected it (pin #1) to atmel pin #14...

pin#2 (74hc00) to jumper block (to the 4 pins connected by 1 trace under jumperblock, on the reverse side)...

pin #3 (74hc00) to atmel pin 6...

pin #9 (74hc00) to pin 9 74hc74 (u10) (surface mount on reverse side) pin 9 trace .

pin #12 (74hc00) to atmel #18.

there were traces between pins 2-3-4 that need to be cut as the unused gates on 74hc00 (pins 1-2-3) are tied to either vcc or ground and this needs to be remedied. this is why i cut pin 1, and bent it up, as it was tied to (vcc?) and cutting the trace wouldnt work... I cut the traces between 2-3-4, but you could just as easily cut pin 2 and 3 and hook directly to the pins, instead of trying to cut the traces, its tough! Use a meter to check your cuts!

5K Pot from pin 4, 74hc4053 (u11) to ground.

All of the traces were cut by following theabove article using a multimeter. The 74hc00 pinout below really helps you follow the article...

I run it at 6v with my variable voltage power supply.

I was unable to flash the 2313 in the unlooper, even with the jumper wire, i had to use a simple programmer, in dos...

Works good, have opened a24, a81, rom11, etc...

...clockspeed...

all credit for above goes to Clockspeed and CC it is a C&P but it really helps. I substituted a 1k 15 turn pot since most people seem to be hitting a sweet spot under 1k and the 15 turn gives you a more precise control to fine tune. when your done double check all with meter and head for winex with loader2 settings fine tune pot and your off and running. good luck i hit most with the delay set around 320.

well, I checked out the instructions and they seem to be accurate as far as pin to pin. Even though the rev2 is laid out slightly different it still has the same chips and therefore the same traces. I used a tone tester and found each connection listed. I think I'm going to give it a shot since the loader isn't of much value to me anymore as it is.

I'm a little leery about lifting pins from a hole though connection because Ive broken them before so I pulled out the 74hc00 and socketed it. Bending the pin while the chip is out seems easier.

My only question is about
Quote:
On the 74hc00n (u2) i cut pin 1 bent it up and connected it (pin #1) to atmel pin #14...

pin#2 (74hc00) to jumper block (to the 4 pins connected by 1 trace under jumperblock, on the reverse side)...

pin #3 (74hc00) to atmel pin 6...

pin #9 (74hc00) to pin 9 74hc74 (u10) (surface mount on reverse side) pin 9 trace .

pin #12 (74hc00) to atmel #18.
With pins 2,3,9,12 should those be lifted from the board as well?

Nope you don't have to worry about lifting any other pins, just cut traces in the instructions and you will be a-ok. I actually didn't lift the pin 1 either i used a very small dremel tip to cut it at the board then that left enough so that i could solder on. everyone is looking for pictures and that is a bad idea since the quality won't allow you to accurately see which traces are cut and soldered to that is why i said to use your meter. Just do one step at a time double check it reread it and meter it before and after you'll do just fine!!

well I should have some time over the holliday to give this a try.

Does the mod render your jumpers useless? Do you even need them any more?

How did you calibrate your POT to find the glitch? Is there a program to help you do this or is it trial and error?
