skudrunner...
Ok you have a few options in which way you possibly want to test.If the Card you have hasnotbeen in the stream since the first week of Nov,2003 then it'll be unlocked and thus enabling you to program it for all channels like you require...if it.... has.... then it's most probably stream locked at Rev A3D...how to check..pull sat cable off ird and insert card in ird,go to menu,6,1,3 and see what the DNS id says...something like 010Rev A3D.If this is the case then it's locked and will have to wait until there are possibilities of opening this card....now the other options you have are to go the same route as you were doing before with an AVR ..which requires the smartcard to be placed with testingg device ..or you can get an ATMEGA which does not require smartcard but does require the extraction of the boxkeys from the ird with a JTAG and jkeys software.
You are best to read the Newbie guide in the files section as this will enlighten you more as to how to test...hope this explains what you were asking.

Have a read....http://www.dssftp.com/filedownload/d...fornewbies.zip

372!!! Man I got some really good news for you! I just hate that sort of thing. *grin*

You have what is refered to as a unlocked Rom3. At this point do not put that card in the stream until some sort of blocker is on it. That means do not hook up your receiver to a dish with the card inserted in the receiver.

You need a programmer for DN cards. You need Nagraedit 3. You need PengaRom3nc64Rev2 (blocker). You need RTM11.8d. If the card is orginal to the receiver you don't need a jtag and jkeys yet but will need it later in case of a ECM. After you pick up all that find a rom3 how to and then ask questions.

If you get a simple AVR then you are going to need to use your cam with it and this will lock the cam...waste...Get into programming the cam you have and I promise you ...you'll never turn back...The only hardware you'l need to buy is a programmer..iso 3.68

No problem all that came right off the top of my head. No looking up involved. They aren't products they are software. Darnet covered the only product you need in the post before this one. For the software I mentioned Click on the Big FILES SECTION in Darnet's post. You'll find all that software there. Mili's stor has the programmers.

Because simple AVR's go down a lot and often. Plus the fact that a AVR is not a plug and play device that is simple to use. It requires as much knowledge as just programming the CAM.

shit! I did misspell your name! Sorry about that Darnat. Must be the full moon. Yea that's it the full moon. Couldn't be the five shots of whiskey and three beers. Naw never a let a few drinks mess up my spelling before. Yep has to be the full moon.

I humbly apologize and will put your name in a cut and paste format to avoid future problems. :-)

and is the quad jtag hard to put on?????
Yes you need to jtag....Make yourself a simple jtag which will work great with your 27**,easy to build and it's better to solder to pads as then you have both hands free to do your programming. Not much hardware needed for this...but if you want to go with a quad..it's not hard to use but you have to hold it in one position all the time...your choice I suppose.
