Dishnet 3900 converted to Bev 2700
6 months ago or so I toom an old Dishnet 3900 and converted it to Bev by writing a file that I downloaded called 3900c to the 3900. It worked great until the recent update, now when I change the channel I get an error message "ATTENTION 005". I understand that my IRD needs to take the update, but due to the fact it isnt really a Bev 2700 I cant get it to update in the stream. When I try to write a current Bev 2700 TSOP to it, it starts writing at %75, then finnishes, but it wont work. Any ideas?

I have tried to to erase sa5 to take update, doesnt happen, tried everthing to update in stream, and nothing works.
I am using Dishnet 3900 with no locks installed, and ROM10 plastic. I have found some posts on another site that I think holds the answers I will post them here though I havent tried them. As soon as I do I will post my results. Here is the offered suggustions from guys who seem to know what they're talking about: Converting a 3900 to bev 3700c The trick is to make a 524,288 file = 2097,152 I used the good old fashioned DOS copy /b command to add 4 bin files together. (Instructions are next) Run flashedit 1.3.1 on your 3900 tsop bin, note the build config. Get the latest bev file for a 2700/3700 (rev E355) Run flashedit on this file, put in ird#, boxkeys, fix crc and change the build to the one you saw in the 3900 file. Note the s/w version box and model id. Save this file as 1.bin to an empty directory. Copy this same file to the same directory 3 more times, renaming as 2.bin 3.bin 4.bin You should now have 4 indentical files. In DOS or a DOS shell type in: copy /b 1.bin+2.bin+3.bin+4.bin 5.bin 5.bin is the output file, 2097,152 in size. Run flashedit on this file, select 3900 as ird model. Edit any incorrect info in the s/w version box, model id box. Save this file. Load this file into your 3900 tsop, watch tv. ============================================== Take a 2700 (or 3700) tsop from BEV (2700.bin) copy it 3 more times (2701.bin, 2702.bin & 2703.bin). you will now have 4 tsop bin (512kb each). click Start -> run and type "cmd" you will now have a DOS box, go to you bin location and copy all 4 files into one with: copy /b 2700.bin + 2701.bin + 2702.bin + 2703.bin 3900.bin (the 3900.bin will have 2Mb size). load it up into flashedit and correct the CRC, save it and made a valide EEPROM, Reflash you 3900.bin & eeprom into you dish 3900 and voila you now have a modified 2700 |
