They thought so too. DTV and the judge thought differently. The way it will effect the end user is the same as with other busted dealers' customers: the dreaded letter.

This is not as cut and dried as it first looks. The SD Logic case was a summary judgement award against the company. SD was unable to defend against DTV as it's Corporate Status was suspended. The Judges ruling on the devices being PAD's is not admissable in any end user case because of SD being unable to defend.
The interesting aspect of the case is these titbits . Rich Koch a mysterious third party and the Booth's other companys DSSFIX and Smartcardtoolz named in the case. Last edited by 10ON.EXE; 05-03-2005 at 07:54 PM.. |

A PAD is a Pirate Accsess Device. It's not that they can't go after an end user it is that SDLogic sold to everyone. Govt, Military various business etc. The T911 is probably the only item that may be looked at as a PAD.
This was a uncontested case, so the Judge only heard one side. He just agreed with what they (DTV) said as opposed to ruling on the devices. It is a just a paper judgement giving DTV bragging rights. You can't collect from a company that is no longer in business |

could they require sd to submit credit card records? they didn't sell a t-911 reader--a least a sdlogic site---maybe at DSSFIX or the other site you named or am i wrong? thanks

As I stated earlier the key to this whole case is Rich Koch (ISO-TEK) and not SDLOGIC as everyone knows them( including Microsoft). Even though the judgement went against SDLOGIC, there is a whole lot more to this story than that.
Time Line Rich Koch rolls over SD loses it Corporate Status Summary Judgement against SD According to Court records . The 21 million judgement is broken down as follows. Ten thousand judgement for each device sold. 2116 Universal Smart Card Devices sold 50 V16 devices sold 10 SD-EXT devices sold None of these devices where sold through SD's own web site. Nothing new here, same devices as all the other so called Pirate sites sold. Somewhere out in cyber land devices manufactured by SD sold through a third party. End of story |

I have there Ultra SD7816U I need the flash info it the dual progammer switches from ISO programer to HU programer But I lost the paper work to flash the unit I want to use it to unlock some 102's any body got info on this unit
