2700 is not a web tv receiver. You might want to check is it a 7200?
You can't jtag a 7200. If it is a 7200 load the Rom 3 with the latest blocker and tiers and it will run for months. The hard drive is upgradable. For more record time at least. Several HD's will work. Still requires a load from MS's website but is considered a low risk to get the basic info for the drive to work. t160hq That dosen't matter though because a 7200 has never been hit. Period.

so, t160hq? does that mean to allow it to connect to microsofts website? I am asking this in advance because i have one that i am thinking about getting up and running.

Only if you are upgrading the harddrive ouxly40. As I understand it on installing a new HD the receiver will call MS over the phone line to load the basic OS for the 7200. Slow modem so it could take up to a couple hours. Once loaded disconnect the line and go through the normal setups.
If using the orginal drive none of this is necessary. t160hq |

Good info! Yes I have located a 30GB hard drive (hard to find drives that small nowadays) and have installed it. all i gotta do now is get the keys. My laziness! I had the original card image stored on the hard drive of this 'puter. not on a floppy or CD like i should have. Came home from working out of town and BAM! lightening had taken it out. Power supply and harddrive. there went the keys. Once i find the remote, i am gonna start playing with it. I have been told that since it was out of stream so long ago that it may have them in the memory dump screen. Something to think about.
