I too have software in order to do this. let me know if you need it. you do however need to create a bootable floppy or CD and you obviously need a computer in order to do that.

it resets to no password

sj are there any instructions for using your program or do i just run it and follow the onscreen prompts? another thing is i can't get it to run! it's saying " The application failed to start because awprhook.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." shpuld i redownload the file and try running it again?

I don't think you can change the admin password in safe mode.

use the one I posted, it is awesome.
It will only work on the machine itself tough. will not allow you to do it over a network. that sucks!

I'm gonna try this one. I came across an 80 gig recently that none of the previous methods has worked on.

Thanks,

i'll try it as well. while we're on computers here though, i have a question. I currently have an intel motherboard with a 1.0GHz Intel celeron processor installed, which is pretty slow. I want to upgrade to an AMD motherboard with an AMD Sempron 2800+ 2.0GHz processor with 512MB DDR memory, maybe add more later.

Will this slight upgrade significantly speed up my pc? Also, Will I be able to use these new items along with my current hard drive? Thanks

Try here there are a million of them around.
It will also lead you to other places like alta vsita.

If you have a old junky computer you may want to open any files you get there, just in case
These places are the reason I have to re-format and re-install so frequently. lots of jokers.

tried all of the above programs but it did not get me by the admin password screen. Even got erd commander 2005 and it goes not boot to get you pass the admin password . The program works cause I tried in on my desktop to see if it was a ggod copy had to do an image burn on cd . My son been helping me . We did a simulation on his deshtop and put in a user password and it works but when you put in the admin password when the computer first come on the password caome s up and non of the programs has gotten by the admin password. This is the probem I have with our laptop . I put in the password before my head operation and forgot what it was . was going to give it to my grand daughter . Oh Well!! I'm just putting this with my screw ups
(1) put my lower dentures in the napkin while eating , threw napkin away
(2) Walked into glass slinding door
(3) Put Ice cream back in with the milk
(4)lost glasses
(5) forgot password in laptop computer

XP Password

Try booting into safe mode. XP should give you Two Users to log in with. Your original login name and one called "Administrator". The admin should not have password protection on it. You can then remove your old login and create a new one.

Good luck

you can buy a program for $40.00 that runs in Dos, that will let you remove all the passwords in XP Pro. I will not post it for you, as it has my email address as the buyer, sorry about that. The program is called Active Passwork Changer 3, you can buy it online, if you have access to another online computer. This program will create a boot Dos boot disk that will hunt down the passwords, and give you the option of removing any or all of them. When you then boot up in XP again, all you have to do is just ignore the password. I had four XP computers that were password locked, now I have four computers with no passwords. Good luck

My son and I went there got the files . Use about a total of 10 different programs and nothing gets pass the admin password. If this was a desktop unit I would've had it apart, disassembled , back together , up and running. This Laptop looks like it is going to put in the place I had my Lifetime receiver before I got that up and running again with the last bin fix. But I am still at it. Maybe by Monday I will be able to give it to my granddaughter and see the Big smile on Her Face. Got Three more day. Got To Go Now . Have a

I use the linux floppy everytime I can't get past the admin password and have never failed.

Are you talking about the Windows password or a BIOS password?
