i was just wondering if someone was to somehow magically produce a hack for the 102 Nagra 2 cards .

How many sales are they to expect?


and at what price?


This is bluntly hypothetical , I don't have or know anyone with a hack.

just wanted to understand the scale of the market.

You're gonna have to be more specific within your scope here...

Do you mean what cost would they expect a DEALER to pay for the hack that intends to re-sale?

Do you mean what cost would they expect an end-user to pay for a fix and/or updates?

You would have to consider basic general marketing, supply and demand, and then the basic means of delivery to a potential buyer. Basically, whoever comes up with it will want the most money all at once, which would come from dealer(s). They wouldn't care what the end-user would pay, that would be up to the dealer.

Asking a question this broad is sorta like asking how much money would Donald Trump expect to profit from starting a chain of casinos across the country... hahaha

well, i it seems like everyone is saying that their is a N2 Hack now.. so i am not sure of the point of the Question.

but , in case this rumors are fake.(its its getting harder and harder to believe.)

What cost would one can expect a DEALER to pay for the hack?

i would say a dealer (person or group) would pay anywhere from 100 grand on up... and if they were gonna be one of only 1,2, or 3 places to sell it, possible 1 Mill...

you can expect prices for cards to be several hundred for end users...

we live in a capitalistic world .. everything is for sale.. people would sell you their mama's if the price is right.

So if their is that much money on the table .. i am sure someone would come up with a hack if they didn't already.

Ok... say you spent $1 million bucks for the hack. Then you start selling your services. You get people to send in a card and you program it for $250. You only have to program 4000 cards to break even. Do the math.

If the price was $100,000 for the hack and you priced your services at $350 you would break even at a mere 286 cards.

We know there are tens of thousands of buyers out there. Let's say you snag 5000 buyers (not at all unreasonable for some guy we all know sipping a Mai-Tai in the Bahama's). If your cost is $100,000 and you price the fix at $300. You make $1.4 million dollars. Even if you throw in free return postage you are still stinkin rich.

The profit for a true stable N2 hack is amazing.

IF it's real.

The profit for a non-working hack? Not so much. If you start selling a hack that doesn't work... well then your reputation is down the shitter and you eek out a living running scams or selling fake Viagra.

No wonder the legit dealers are taking it a bit slow.

I wont pay anything, never have never will. Freeware has always worked for me. Dealer stuff only lasts so long before it too is hacked. I can wait. Hardware is a differnt story, I'd pay about $100-$150 for somesort of programmer.

The history of Dave and Charlie is filled with stories of reverse engineering.

Someone who wants to be a hero to the community or just loves the challenge will order a card or 4 from the dealer(s) in question and will find out what was done to the card.

Shelf life for a "truly dealer" system is only a couple of months at the outside and depending on who wants to get in and how badly they want to get in, a couple of days at the inside. Remeber HU unlooping? Dealers paid big bucks and had it all to themselves for what, a couple of hours?

Don't fret, freeware won't be too far behind now that the card is compromised.

There is no "suppose" about it. This hack is all over canada and i have been saying for months that it will come in july. Just ask smilingjack, i was telling him back in april that a dreambox is the best way to go.

if anyone has 1/2 a brain they wouldn't buy any fantasies/ dreams/programming/promises right now.

only deal with people you know and trust.

Wait for free programming.. the most you should buy is the hardware and not now!!!

then maybe buy some hardware and still stick to people you know and trust.. mili or a local dealer (very local.. so if its a fake you can brake his legs.)
