free cable tv and internet
i just moved into our new apartment and since dish bell is going down i wanted an alternative so i go out side to the cable box i get the main feed coming into the house split it hid all cables ran it in to my new apt hooked up the box and i got free cable and internet but my question is my cable comp wants the modem back i have anouther cable modem box and i took it apart and what do i find in both boxes and these are totally diff boxes 2 diff companies hamilton sudbury they both 29lv flash same as the fortec ultra so the jtag config would be the same then i could just jtag the one save the flash and then write it to the other right? cos all i need to do is transfer the mac numbers over and i could do that with j keys hey if it works that would be cool i dident see a cable section so i hope this is the right section

Well your cable modem will probably get shut of in a few weeks anyways, I don't think it's worth the bother. I had the same situation, cept I owned my cable modem. I moved took my cable modem with that I had canceled the serive to. It worked fine for a little less than a month. They are just slow to get them shut off. The deptments are not well intergrated.

But I don't think anyone here has jtaged a cable model, give it a shot, load up the flash on your computer, and write it back to the one your gona give back to see if it works. If you mess it up oh well not your problem...

if you could clone it to a modem you know is working, that would be sweet

well I used to work for a cable internet providor, and believe me, if you're using a cable modem that is going to be from an account that has been cancelled, it'll be purged from the system when your DHCP lease runs out

With Cox Communications if you try to change your modem, it will not work. You have to call them and give them the MAC address so they can authorize the modem to work. If the MAC is not in their system, it will not work.

You can always clone the MAC address to an address outside of your local connection like a diferent switch kind of connection. Also you can clone the MAC to a MAC from a business connection and then you are set with less restrictions and sometimes more speed and stuff. but you did not get that idea from me.

if the working modem is from hamilton and you are no longer using cogeco's service just keep the modem until they zap it. They can down the modem with the push of a button at the office. Sometimes they forget. As long as you don't care about a collection agency calling you just keep the modem.

It took my cable co. almost 1 year before they realized I was NOT Paying for service and had canceled the account.
Coincidently JUST DISCOVERED (earlier today) This website which CLAIMS Cable INTERNET Modem Hack... And Cable Modem cloning. They have a forum which has much info. hXXp://www.tcniso.net/ (Change XX to tt) I have NO personal knowledge whether it works or not. |

Anyone have any personal knowledge of the above site. Sounds very interesting. I have limited knowledge of internet hacking, but as long as we are trying to fuck dave and charlie, we might as well fuck the cable internet systems too. Maybe a new venture for Mili to look at. |
