Switch question
Currently I have two dishes on the roof, one for regular and the other for international. These are connetcted to a DP34 and from there to two dish receiver (subed) .
I would like to buy a DVB card and connect to the system, but I've read that it might be a problem because DVB won't work with that switch. How can I make it work without getting another dish? |

get a DiseqC 4 switch and all will be fine. SJ has a post under the dvb files section, just take a look and see just what is involved.

If I get a DiseqC 4 switch and plug in between my Dish Pro LNB and my DVB-S card, will this work? Or can I use my existing DP switch (built into the LNB assembly) and just change the frequency settings in ProgDVB? Thanks. |

I've read somewhere that DP34 is supporting disecq tech.
also smilingjack wrote: "Dishnetwork "dishpro" switches work but require some customization to the software configuration". would that mean DP34 will work with DVB? if yes what software configuration are we talking about? where can I find more info? |

If a modification can be made for a dishpro lnb, why can't a modification be done for the sw switch line. I would guess that most people running echostar equip. would have these swithces.
Worthy project to figure out or waste of time. |

I think the switch issue is confusing many (including myself). I have read SJ's sticky's. The software how-to is straightforward for me but how everything should be hooked up has me puzzled. For those of us with a typical dish500 setup with a sw21 switch, do we simply replace the sw21 with a disecq switch or is there more to it?
