SJ has some good posts about typical system setups. But I can tell you it is not as easy as just a readme. There is a general formula to follow, but with every machine there are different issues. The best thing to do is read.
As far as not using a dedicated machine, then a hardware enabled card might be the option. Hope any of this helps. |

A 2.8 GHz machine with a GIG of ram is more than adequate as a multipurpose machine. I have half the ram and a 2.0 and I have no trouble multitasking with a software decoding DVB card.
Since there are more people in the game now, it is a lot easier than it used to be. Be prepared for extensive reading before starting the installation. |

I'm running a Kworld DVB card, ProgDVB 4.55, on PIII 800. Before the keys changed, I was using S2emu. I experienced some freezing and delays but I was able to live with it. I updated the softcam.key file and had it working last night. This morning I had no picture, sound, etc. I tried everything from reinstalling ProgDVB, the drivers, DLL files, etc. When I open up ProgDVB , the S2emu is enabled but when I click on a channel it crashes my computer. Same thing happens with KrasnalTM.dll pluging. Is my computer to slow now to handle the new keys? Can someone offer some guidance? Thanks in advance.

If it was working last night, I doubt it is the new keys. It may just be coincidence.

When I click on information on the S@emu plugin I get: ECM: "77F5 - ", with a lot of data in the box below. Was my card 'ECM'd"? I can't figure it out. BTW, I'm running ProgDVB 4.56. Thanks in advance.

I don't know anything about Prog DVB but your card can't be ECM'd. The software can be but not the card.
Is this a relatively new setup? I would try two things: If you have verified that your software was working and has not been changed, turn off the PC for half an hour to let it cool. Secondly, try running it with the case off in increase ventilation after it has cooled. If you still don't have any luck, replace the power supply unit for the PC. I have seen more weird behaviour because of failing power supplies than you'd believe. Good luck |

Spanky, I'd also check that only S2EMU or Krasnal is active. I'm not sure if there is a problem running both simultaneously, but why make it harder then it already is?

And my once functioning DVB card/software is no longer working. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the software, the device drivers, etc. I'm showing that the card is picking up signal. The problem is that when Krasnal14.dll is loaded and I click on a channel the computer freezes...and I mean a deep freeze! I have to power it off and back on to get it to reboot. I think my PIII-800 PC just isn't up to par anymore with the new decryption file. So..........I'm returning the DVB card tomorrow (hopefully they'll refund me no questions asked) and will await my Coolsat 4000 Pro to arrive on Tuesday. Thanks to all for your helpful advice. |

I'm getting freezing on channel 492 and 496 usin MT. All other channels are fine.
I was getting some scrambling happening but that was caused by some setting in the MT. I went through some of the settings and the problem was fixed. I'll try this s2emu1.18. I havn't seen it anywhere yet though.
