Unhappy BEV 2700 missing ppv after new tsop flash

Hi.

My 2700 has no selection on the menu for the ppv range of channels and cannot select the BEV ~~700 range. I have re-flashed the tsop with at least 2 dumps for the tsop bank and no-go. Other channels have no problems. I do not have the original tsop. Running atmega with nawapom. Any advice???????

Thanks in advance

Let it take the latest update from bev. In the stream now. The flashes you got from the the tsop bank are unlikely to be the latest revsion.

tune to ch 198. make sure all locks if any are off. power down the receiver and wait. 5 to 20 minutes is the usual wait.

Time to make some checks. Hit the sys info button on the remote. What's the software version?

Especially the last letter should be -N.

Have you put in any parental control password or locked out channels?

Are you on a favorites list instead of all sub?

Software E308% ? 2%-N
no parent control or locks
all subscribed

interesting that the sys info says model 3700, not 2700

3700? If the sticker on the back says 2700 that is likely the problem. While a 3700 build might work on a 2700 box it won't update.

Much like converting a 3900 DN receiver to a 2700 to make it work on Bev. Works fine but won't update.

Find the right build for your box in a 2700 model firmware then change the info and flash it to the box.

Make sure you build a new proper virgin EEPROM as well and flash it to the box.

Can't seem to find the right build, tried several tsop dumps from tsop bank and same results. Not familiar with the eeprom procedure, please advise. Also could u pls point to a good 2700 dump with eeprom. Not much luck for me finding one

Thanks again!

There is a sticker on the PC board inside the receiver. Take the cover off and look for a little white sticker with four capitol letters. Post back what they are. Need that to tell you what to get.

The 3700 build you have from the jtag or sys info screen is not correct for a 2700. The sticker will give you the correct build.

The file causes dish icon to still be displayed and is still missing the channels. Bad crc is displayed when configuring with flashedit 1.3.1 and does not run when crc is NOT corrected/repaired. crc must be repaired before getting something and that something is dish with missing channels

Any other files? ideas ? etc?

You should pick up FlashEdit 2-0a-1 as well. You also need to correct the EEPROM flash if it's the build for the 3700 to the correct 2700 build. Dump the eeprom with jkeys and check the first 4 bytes. The letters from the sticker should be the first four bytes. It will be in hex so either convert it or get something like hexworkshop to check it.

Or you can use flash edit to save a virgin EEPROM and flash it to the receiver. Then you know it's right.

Ok, so I fixed the crc with flashedit 1.3, and saved with the keys etc. I also saved its eeprom too as a virginized eeprom. Flashed the ird with the crc corrected bin and then flashed the eeprom with the virgin. ird is sitting with led on and no control from rc at all.

Please what now, wait? There is no display as to what is happening, not even acquiring satelitte signal.

BTW Flash edit 2 refuses to let you open the bin file so you have to select the advanced mode before it will open.

Thanks again

Yes you are. Impatient that is. *grin* just kidding.

Are you running tiers or a 3m? If tiers you may not have
put the tiers for those channels on. Or they are old and
no longer work.

Another thing might be your dish. Single or 500?. If its
a single pointed at 91 the channels may (I stress may as
I don't really know) be there anymore. They may have moved
them to Bell ExpressVu 82.

Thanks again, I will worry about those others another time. Now I have noticed that the atmega resets to Newfoundland time when I set it at CST when using nawapom19. Happens after about an hour after re-setting the TZ and inserting in the ird. Ideas??

Better post that one in the atmega forum. I got zero experience with atmega. Lots of guys in that forum know quite a lot about it and can answer that one.

solcany ...are you setting timezone properly....should be at F0 if I guess correctly!
Timezones- Figure out what time zone you live in and then what time of year it is (standard time or daylight savings time). Select the appropriate value from the table. Depending on what type of device you are programming select either the abbreviation for the time zone or the hex value.

Zone: Standard / Daylight Savings

Hawaii: Standard=D8 DaylightSavings=DC
Alaska: Standard=DC DaylightSavings=E0
Newfoundland: (NST/NDT) Standard=F6 DaylightSavings=F2
Pacific: (PST/PDT) Standard=E0 DaylightSavings=E4
Mountain: (MST/MDT) Standard=E4 DaylightSavings=E8
Atlantic: (AST/ADT) Standard=F0 DaylightSavings=F4
Central: (CST/CDT) Standard=E8 DaylightSavings=EC
Eastern: (EST/EDT) Standard=EC DaylightSavings=F0

Thanks, but FYI it was set fine and then after about 1 hour in the ird it reset to Newfy time. All was programmed ok prior to installing the card and watching.

instead of erasing the tsop, you should just do the two wire fix, and jump sb39 and sb40. pull out card and push it back in, searching for sat signal, jump the two points and hold it till the green light flickers and then stays on . release the wire and wait for 5 mins. you will have the updates and the new channels
