I have tested it on a V220 and V551 and it works.
To test it worked, try a different carrier sim card. e.g. If you have a Cingular Sim card try a AT&T or T-Mobile Sim, and id=f it does not ask for a code it works.
You need a USB cable for your phone. Fleabay has them cheap.
Most people charge $25 to do this, now you can do it for free.

What do you mean?
I know that most VXXX's are supported but not all of them.
I tried with success on a V220 and a V551.
I never tried on my V600 as I had it unlocked for free in England.
If you have a USB cable it is easy.
Extract the zip file, open the folder click on the file, turn off your phone, and turn it back on holding * and # at the same time to go into bootloader mode. Then insert your usb cable to your phone and click the button in the software.
Thats it there is no confirmation, you have to try a different carrier sim.

What model phone?
Do you have the USB cable?
did you goto bootloader mode before plugging the USb into the phone?

I have a motorola v 180 . i went into the boot load mode on phone , plug usb cable in and hit unlock and i get RF not found . am i doing something wrong .

First make sure usb in plugged in to the computer.
Then restart your phone holding down * and # keys will turning on the phone.
You should boot in to boot loader. It will say on the phone screen plug in the usb cable. When you have plugged the USB into the phone it will sat ok or something like that, just press the unlock button on the computer and you are done. I have also tried this on a V180 yesterday and it worked flawlessly.

GSM phones from T-mobile, cingular etc. are locked so that they can only be used on that network. Meaning if you bought a phone from Cingular it will be locked so that the phone can only be used on Cingular. By unlocking the phone the phone you can use it on any GSM service.
In short if you unlock that Cingular phone you can use it on T-Mobile without buying another phone. Also if you go to another country you can just buy a pre-paid sim card and avoid international roaming charges.

Iam in boot loader i get battery ok , ok to program usb trasfer mode i hit unlock and i still get RF one not found:[ do i have to remove the sim card or leave it in the phone i get RF one not found with the sim still in phone

When you boot up in bootloader what version does it say. Not the software version. Iit should be in hex.

IS there any other software to unlock a motorola phone

I has a Moto V180 and use that unlock program but now when I put in cingular sim card then phone asking for a Subsidy Code. Is any one out there has a code please share it with me. The Phone i has from AT&T .

Put your mouse on mruk69's link and right click. Now left click on save target as, a box will open asking you where to save file, choose your location and remove the .jpg from the file name, now hit save.
Edit: I just right clicked on the file to "save target as" low and behold, the file does not need any mod to the file name.
