I really screwed up

Need help real bad. Went to get my laptop to give to my granddaughter. She could use it for some of her school stuff but memory isn't good any more like it use to be and I forgot the password. I can not get to the Bios because there is one for the Admin, which is me I did this before my head operation just to keep the boys out and Now it has haunt me. I got a few of the programs on his forum but now seem to work because I can not get to change the computer to boot from the CD . On program was listed but when you opened it it was empty. Laptop is emachine m6805 with winxp in it. about 512 memory and only 60 gigs . So with you guys expertise maybe someone can help me out . Thanks in advance for your time and Have a Great Day!!

Boot into safemode
add a new admin & remember the password you may have to delete the old one first.
reboot
enter new admin info.
