What did letter say. Like DTV it is probably a fishing expidition wanting you to admit to wrong doing and pay. Unless you are into providing for others they have to PROVE you stole signal, VERY HARD TO DO unless you are ratted out by others or yourself.

First off let me say SORRY to hear you or anyone is getting those letters. No point in telling you what you should have done ... that is pretty much something in hindsight you can figure out for yourself.

I would be interested however if you could share the contents of the letter in its original state for reference purposes for other members.

Good luck and look for support from others here and about the internet who have been down this road with Dave.

Yes, we need to know who the vendor was who gave up his info, and a scan of the document would be most appreciated as well. Don't forget to black out any personal information. Until we have this, it's still not confirmed that Charlie has adopted Dave's strategy of extortion letters. I havn't seen any other reports of this kind of thing. So for now, let's not panic.

well i have never had to sign for my stuff cause i buy form mili

i got a letter from dtv about 2 to 3 years ago i did what everyone said and ignored it and threw it in the garbage, done same with the second letter. threating to take me to court, again threw it away , couple of months later got judgement papers from court for 1.2 million because i bought over 400 bootloaders. they claimed thats how much i stole from them. i think i still hav the paper fom them but they cant collect cause everything is in wifes name, it isnt on my credit report though. just never adnit anything.

I dont understand if there shaking him down for buying the unlocker because the unlocker is not a programmer or am i wrong , now buying from a site that sells hacking hardware in the US could be the reason. but will that hold up in court i mean why cant u unlock a card to a virgin state? now thats just me running my mouth i really dont Know thanx Sanman

Until there are more reports of this and we know who the vendor he purchased from, this is just rumor. I'm not going to move the thread just yet, but without a corroborating report with pertinant info and hopefully a scan of the document lets consider this rumor....at least for now.

Ok, so there were a few busts a cople months back. They were all Eastern Canadian dealers. I forgot the exact list. We now have reports that people who have purchased from at least onr of those vendors, dsstoybox, are receiving extortion letters from Charlie. Who else got shut down a couple months ago? If they're on the list and you purchased from them you may want to be prepared for an unwanted package via FedEx or certified mail. I have yet to witness a scan of the document, but it's on it's way hopefully. How many letters will be sent and to whome time will tell.

If anyone else gets one of these please be sure to let us know the vendor.

It is indeed bad news guys, the document I have been emailed looks pretty authentic. I will put a news page post on this now. Stay the heck away from PayPal and COD and Canadaian dealers in general.
