33" dish with sg2100 motor diseqc 1.2

I was thinking about buying a 33 inch dish with sg2100 motor diseqc 1.2. Does anyone know how well these actiually work with a CS5K. If they work, id like to take down my dish farm and sell them, and go just to the motorized 33". Please any insight from anyone that knows anything thanks

I can't help you with a CS5K , I use a DVB card but I do like my SG-2100 compared to the fixed dishes. It takes a fair bit of time to do the set up and if your going after the FTA birds the aiming is more crucial but you will get a good picture with a lot less signal strenght. There is also a short waiting period while it moves from one sat to the next, but for the slight inconvience I think it's worth it. Just my opinion.

Thanks Missy!!! Is it true that theres only about 1 second per 2degree change in the dish? I was thinking the picture quality would be better as well, given better signal from more TP's any other insight you can give. Thanks again!!!!

Works Great with CS6K

I have a Coolsat 6K with a 33" dish and SG2100 motor. This setup works great, I can get all the birds up there and the picture quality is great. I havent timed the movement of the dish, but it isnt very long at all, less than 20 seconds to go from 61.0 to 148.0 which is the entire arc from where I live. It is harder to set it up and get it tweaked right than it is to setup a DSS stationary system, but once you get it set, just make sure everything is locked down real tight. I also recommend putting marks on your dish positions so if you ever have to work on it or remove it, you can set it back up easier and quicker. I have a KU LNB and a DSS LNB mounted on my dish so I can get Free to Air and D*sh/B*v. I used a block of wood and some wire ties to strap my DSS LNB next to my KU LNB. It has been running for about six months now and I have never had to climb up on the roof to adjust it. We had 45 mph winds here last week and my dish is still working great. I got rid of my dish farm and now only have the one dish for everything. It is well worth the time and money. I know where there is a great setup guide for this if you need it.

Once you get it aimed and there is no way your pole will ever move, what I did was drill a hole right through the dish bracket and the mounting pole and used a nut and bolt. It has not moved left or right since I put it there in over a year ago. As far as picture quality once you get a picture say with a 10 or 20% , from there to 100% the picture quality dose not realy change. Of cource the better the aim and the bigger the dish it helps with rain fade. I have a post here a little further down the the listwith a picture, you may want to check out. I have a lot more pictures if you would like me to post them.

WOW Missy thanks great post!!!! However I am now more confused now, than before, after reading that post, if i get one, would you be interested in helping me through the process of setting up if i get lost? As I have read this isnt as easy as a standard tv, but you got so much into subtracting and adding values i got lost. Might need some pro advice from ya if ya dont mind. Will add you as a contact on here if you dont mind. Anyhow THANKS AGAIN!!!!!! GREAT POST

Most locals are on spot beams, so it will depend where you live as to which locals you can receive. I will post some links below that will give you a lot of info on spot beam foot prints and which transponders carry what channels.
