*** Please do NOT bid on this item. When I upgraded my equipment, Dish Network informed me that I owned this receiver. When I recently called to inquire about transferring ownership they changed their tune and said that it is leased equipment.

I will be returning this item to Dish Network. If you feel you must have this reciever please feel free to bid the price of $5000 and I will gladly pay the fee to Dish Network and send you your reciever. For $5000 I might just hand-deliver it myself :-)

I recently upgraded to the new HD DVR. This unit is a little over a year old and has been treated very well. This unit comes with two remote controls and the original owner's manual.

The Dish Network 522 satellite receiver contains 2 individual tuners in one box. The Dish Player 522 DVR has two operating modes. In Single mode the 522 can be used as a dual tuner DVR for one television. This provides Picture-In-Picture (PIP) capabilities on PIP compatible televisions. In Dual Mode, this dual tuner, two remote setup allows for independent control and viewing of television channels from two locations. The 2nd UHF remote gives the user the ability to change channels from the 2nd television location.

The DVR (digital video recorder) allows for 100% digital recording of your favorite television shows.With two tuners you can record two shows at the same time, or watch one show while recording another, or record two shows and watch a third pre-recorded show from the hard drive. Anyone considering the Dish Player 522 DVR receiver should give some consideration for the effective range of a UHF remote control. UHF remotes do have range limitations. Dish Network advertises a UHF remote range of 200 feet. However, that is though open air, and does not take into account the reduction in UHF remote range caused by walls and floors.

Configured as "TV2" UHF Pro remote, it controls satellite receiver up to 200 feet away through walls and other obstructions. It can be programmed to operate (via IR) up to three additional components, such as TVs, VCR's and DVD players.

The 'Hall of Shame' isn't really for reporting lousy fleabay sellers. It's for people that have ripped off Mili primarily and secondarily for members to report other members who have ripped them off. A guy'd have to be a complete moron to bid on something like this, and it is shamefull, it's just not the quite what we had in mind for this forum.
