google up dvd43... it's a free little app that will do exactly what you asked about.

Go to dishjunkie.com to get links to good dvd rippers and burners. I also recommend DVD FAB PLATINUM.

those are copying and shrinking programs. I thought he was asking about copy protection

DVD43 removes copy protection on the fly so ANY dvd copying software can copy the disk.

It's amazing to me that no one has mentioned RipIt4Me. With the copy scheme ante upped, it's probably better to tackle the situation with. ( POLL: How much luck has everyone had using this to extract dead sectors, cleaning up, etc.?)

Just tried it and it's not 8.0 and have dvd43 and it tells me it's out of date and asks if I want the dvd43 update, say yes and guess what?

404 error! :-(

That 1click is good, but hard to justify $40 for something that I'd use a couple of times a year.

hxxp://www.dvd43.com has the download links.. Just downloaded it. 3.9.0 is current.
BTW:
DVD43 is not a copying software. It is to turn off the copy protection so you can copy the disk with normal software.

DVDShrink get most of them

the DVDDecrypt get the rest

and RipIt4Me is for the last (this year models) (you need DVDShrink / DVD DVDDecrypt / VTS) for that one it uses them

You can find practically any burning software with a crack on the torrent sites.....Including 1clickdvd....Anydvd is also a good one to run that takes off the copy protection so you can us the burning software..And its also available with the crack....I only bought 1 program in my life that I couldnt find a crack or serial for.....And it was dvd cover print....

I have a little over 700 DVD titles.
I've used a wide range of programs and combinations of programs.
DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypt were by far teh best combination, but DVD Decrypt is no longer supported.
PGC Edit with it;s PSL plug-in was the next best thing, it added the Protected Sectors List tot he DVD Rip and madef or a clean copy.... in effect, it renewed the lost support for DVD-D.
Then came Ripit4me..which did everythign that PGC Edit did iin a 1 Click solution.
Ripit4me has now been banned from most all forums and you ahve to know someone with a current copy of it in order to get it.
However, it will more than likely be rendered useless when a new encryption is introduced....BUT, it will do the trick on any current DVD you ahve or that is out there... I still use it, but I've dusted off the old PGCedit program in preperation for the new encryption.
It;s not jsut about gety the protection off, it;s about cleaning it up so there are no playback issues or combatibility issues.

Now, if you are looking to Backup your PS2 dvd games.. DVD Decrypt will do the job..just be aware that if it;s a dual layer disk, you'll need to do some extra patching for some modchips to work.

Which is my final point.... iof you are talking about PS2 backups, you ahve to have some sort of modchip or other solution to play you back-up copies.

RipIt4Me 1.7.1.0
DVD ToolsRipIt4Me is a freeware utility to helps you rip and backup your copy protected DVDs. Recently released DVDs are now very often equipped with stronger copy protections - such as new ARccOS™ or RipGuard DVD from Sony, Disney. Programs like DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter cannot handle these types of discs.

With the help of RipIt4Me, ripping these DVDs will be a very easy task. The program is fully automated and the wizard will guide you through all the necessary steps involved. If you prefer, there is also a true "1-Click" mode that will perform all the involved steps automatically for you. Please refer to the official RipIt4Me Guide and FAQ for more information on how to use this program.

Changes in Version 1.7.1.0 (22 March 2007):
- Added an automatic updater. When a new version is available, RipIt4Me offers to download and install it for you. If you answer yes, the application closes, and the updater launches, fetches the app, puts it in the right place, and launches it again. If DVD Decrypter is currently ripping, the rip is aborted. If the VOBs are being cleaned, the cleanup is also aborted.
This of course, will only work the next time we have an update.
- Added code to detect whether the DVD appears to be protected. This is displayed in the main window during Step 1. If the DVD isn't protected, there's a new button in Step 1 to open the DVD with DVD Shrink directly.
- Added "Open .ini file" to the Main menu.
- Added handling of missing titles in video_ts.ifo as experienced in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Greece).
- RipIt4Me now terminates AnyDVD "the right way" (by sending a WM_CLOSE message to its main window in the tray, instead of killing the process).
- In any VTS that's excluded from the rip, the replacement IFO now only contains 1 title and 1 PGC.
- Attempted to fix the problem with DVD Decrypter running out of resources... Let us know if the new code helps!
- Attempted to fix a crash that could occur when a VTS had too many VOBUs. This was possibly responsible for the crash on "Vientos de Agua". Please, try and report? Thanks!
- Fixed a PUO problem in the analysis code that could cause some PGCs to not be cleaned appropriately.
- There was a serious problem in the analysis code related to Sprm[5] (TTN number). Now fixed.
- Attempted to fix the "Not a DVD" problem that some users have had in 1.7.0.0. If that still does not work, post the debug log you get during Step1.
- In Movie-Only mode, a bug in Step1 could cause the IFOs to be copied in the last used target directory (instead of a temporary directory in %TEMP%).
- The psl import code now works when the path includes "(" or ")".
- The "Save logs" function now also copies the FinalIFO BUP files.
- The DVD Decrypter version was not being checked upon startup, no matter what your preferences were! Now fixed.

String translators - please note the addition of a "\n" to string 453 and new strings 471 to 480
