For something like this, I'd say contact your ISP and see if you can have it traced. And normally I wouldn't give this advice, but you may want to contact the authorities as well with a situation like this.

I did call the police two days after he disappear.They said they cant get there name because they are not a suspect and they need a court order. They sad they did try.I post my wife email on are town web site that how we receive it. I will try calling my internet service to see what they can do.But I don't think they can do any thing with out a court order. Please if any body knows how to get there name please let me know.

email address' are so easy to spoof john, with telnet i can make it look like george bush emailed you from the whitehouse. put that together with a good proxy and the chances of tracing become most difficult w/o legal documents allowing the trace. I know someone that may be able to help. I hope you are not screwing around here. I could not fathom you joking about something like this so i am gonna take it most seriously. here is an ideal , may not help but almost helped my DAD.
My stupid brother (get this shit) He migrated to Mexico, He married some girl from there and moved way the hell half way down to be with her.
He called a few months ago asking my old man for some bucks to drive home (1500 miles)
Dad wired him money after he told him he was scared that she was acting funny and her brothers and other men in the small town were acting threatening to him. My dad wrote the local congressman a letter explaining to him how he sent some money to him to come home and he has not been heard from since. Mom was crying, dad was worried and I was not going to Mexico to find him. The numbers he had they called and only Spanish speaking persons answered so they got a local Spanish speaking person to come over and translate for them. They pretty much acted like they never heard of him.
Anyway a few weeks passed and the congressman's office called and said they were forwarding the letter to the American Consulate in that area of Mexico to see if the police could late him. He puled up in the yard two days later and dad had to call the congressman's office to tell them to call of the search so to speak.
My point is maybe your congressman can get the info you want from the email address from the isp.
They have alot more pull than any of us and they maybe could get a court order or something.
Hell after all what are the useless fuckers for anyway if not to help out a citizen?
Just a thought, maybe a stupid ideal.
I know I would be looking at all possibilities if my son had been gone that long.

An email carries with it more information than most email clients show by default. Some more than others, but suffice it to say, an expert who has the original email can often find more detailed information that is not obvious to the lay person. I suggest you contact someone who has experience tracing people as this is what you need to do now. Someone like a bounty hunter or that sort of person. They know how to look for clues and can find people that do not want to be found.

I know such a person that frequents this site. I will PM them with a link to this thread. If they are so inclined, you may get some help or at least advice from them. Might be the same person Crazy knows, might not.. Anyway... hope for the best.

you might want to give peeps a little more to go on. Most of this sort of thing is drug related in one way or another. Kidnap? Ransom? Drugs?

at 24 weeks, the FBI would normally be interested. You can call the local field office and ask to speak to a special agent. I have found them to be pretty friendly at least.

as I said before, there are ways to trace emails, but not for rookies... need a pro.. private dic or law enforcement are your best bet.

Instead of prompting people with info to an email address, why not set up a website concerning your son and his situation. Ask people to visit to learn more or leave tips. I know you can track incoming visitors this way. Lots of business websites do this to get your email and start solicitations. Chances are that some people will visit often and give you a lead of which direction to turn. Hope it helps.

As I stated before, let me now make myself clear.

There are people here that COULD help you, but not with what you have provided. It is up to you as to what you want to share vs how badly you want your son's situation resolved.

So you now become more suspect because (A) we don't know you as a regular here, and (B) You have a HUGE issue (speaking as a father) but put forth a TINY effort.

You are the one who should be ashamed for a number of reasons I can see here so if you don't want help... then piss off. People usually get what they deserve one way or the other.

Im sorry for what I Sad. I was upset I just got the email a few days ago.The police said there is a 95% that he is dead I just want to know where he is for we can give him a proper bury. Ok here is the email that we got.

online and to be honest I debated for a while whether to get on xxx and
say anything as I do not wish to be the one to upset u and your family.
But then I had to look at myself, I am a mother too and if xxx was my
child I would want someone to tell me anything at all they knew or

Like I said...I lived near xxxx and I personally had nothing to do
with him...in fact...I have one friend in this whole neighborhood...the

xxxx was not a quiet person (and certainly no good) and as I was
going down the street one day I heard him outside talking and I heard
xxxx name. So...nosy me..I had to walk a little slower and "open" my ears
some more. I personally heard him telling another man that I did not
recognize that he got into it with xxxx at the xxx and told him he was
going to blow his head off...then a truck was going by so I could not
hear what was said next...but after the truck passed I heard xxxx
say..."and I blew his F'n head off!" I played it cool like I had not heard
anything and immediately went home and contacted someone from the dept.
that I know. He promised to look into it.....this was right before
xxxx was murdered. The morning that I found out xxxx was murdered I
seen the girl he was messing with. She told me that she was scared
because of everything and that xxxx killed someone...I said who..and she
told me that he told her he killed xxxx. Unforunately she did not call
the dept. or tell anyone that "needed" to know..she is young and scared.
I asked an officer when I noticed that flyers were being taken down if
they found xxxx and his response to me was....well kinda. He did not
elaborate. Now...this next part I have not heard from anyone personally
but my neighbor has and even though I am not sure if this is ppl in this
area just being stupid and mouthy or if this was told by xxxxx
himself, I feel u should know ANY possible leads....another person's name
that may have been involved has been floating around here. The person is
xxxx brother..now xxxx is xxxx spouse and they are
talking about his xxxxx. I do not know if any of this will help u
at all or even if it is anything u have heard before...I just felt that
u and your family want to know where he is or what has happened and u
need to know and I even though I am scared to send this for fear that
someone will find out who I am and come after my family...my angel is
right here telling me this is the right thing to do. I have talked to
officers about everything I heard from xxxxx mouth and ppl around here
and I hope they are working as hard as they can for your family. (which I am sure that you do..u seem
like a wonderful mother and I am sure u understand where I am coming
from..my children are my life too) My prayers and thoughts are with you,
may u get some closure to this soon as I know that the hardest part
right now has to be not knowing...again..I am soooo sorry to be the one to
tell u what I heard him say...but I honestly do have the best

You posted or emailed your contact info somewhere to elicit this response to you. Contact that party directly. Most legit organizations do not take kindly to their systems being used to discuss things like murder. Ask for the ISO (Information Security Officer) of the company and have them trace the contact.

You already said you are in contact with the police so SJ's 2nd item is of no help.

All email is not traceable. That is just flat out wrong. Most is however and a professional can do it for you.

I don't think you will get any more help here. People are well intended but you need something more than a few code hackers to get what you need done. YOU NEED A PROFESSIONAL.

Law Enforcement is not usually that helpful because they are too busy. I spoon feed them info all the time that they won't even follow up on. Just a fact of today's society.

Hire a private detective. That is probably the only way you will ever know for sure what happened. Even if you just get them to ID the emailer if that is even possible, that might help.

now that we know that there is a e-mail, and what is says....
The will be obligate to take the e-mail and fine out who sent it.
