hi good evening fellows top of the evening to all you fellows, fellows i have a 921 hd receiver as you guys know and my card is at rev 309 but that card was misplace. i called charile and he sent me a card at 103 rev 300. i have not called in to activate it and i have not put it in the stream as yet. can you guys give me a little info on what i need to do to get this card going? all opinions are appreciated . i have tried to buy a meg4 receiver but i was told it can not be programmed from a few good sources. they told me it was speculation. no one has not seen it they just heard about it. right now i am stuck with this 921 and i need some info on what to do. i am a quick leaner and i can do anything if i get the right advise. i have been in the testing business for 15 years now and there is nothing i can not do if i am told the right information. any help fellows on this 921.

If you have a virgin rom 103 card, then you can glitch it open very easily. Then all you would need to do is replace the BGA TSOP with a pre-programmed BGA TSOP and write the matching image onto your unlocked rom 103 card. Add tiers and blocker, and you're good to go watch TV. Lucky you!

Replace BGA flash chip, (NOT TSOP), is easier said than done...



BGA = Ball Grid Array

TSOP = Thin Small Outline Package

Yep. I've messed up a few before I was able to perfect the technique.

Wow! You have been testing DBS before DBS was around!!!

Removing the BGA isn't difficult, but I think you are going to need to put an activation blocker on that card once glitched open (you are going to need the SK transferred to the card before you can test it - don't recall if the 921 is JTAG-able). Once it's activated, it's all smooth sailing.
