Sorry to hear about your bad experience......
One of the first things I do when considering bidding on an ebay item is......LOOK AT THE SELLER'S FEEDBACK!! If the feedback score is lower than 99%....I take a careful look at the individual negative comments. If I see several....especi- ally if there is more than one of the same type of complaint.... and/or the person didn't post a defensive response to the neg- ative comments.....I quickly hit the 'back' button. Another thing that sets off the alarm bells is a 'stock photo' on an ad. You know....one of those really nice, professional-type photos such as appears in a catalog. This usually means that the seller is advertising merchandise from a source that uses DROP-SHIPPING! The seller doesn't have the item in his pos- session....he just sends the winning bidder's personal info to the company he's dealing with and they ship the item to the winning bidder. That is, they *may* ship it promptly -- or may NOT! If the drop-shipping company happens to be 'out- of-stock' on that particular item....OR....have a bunch of dope- snorting kids in their shipping dept. who lose your order....OR..... just don't give a shit if your item gets shipped or not........Well, you get the idea! So a 'stock photo' in an ad is another thing that will shy me away. Hope this helps. |
