PSP Downgrading Help
I just bought a PSP slim with 3.9 firmware. I read on dark alex about downgrading to play games from memory stick. So is the idea basically that you downgrade it to a level which can take updates and then you flash it with a custom 3.9 firmware? What level do i downgrade it to and do i have to upgrade it back to 3.9 custom? How easy/difficult is it to do all this?

you need pandora battery and a modified memory stick, along with despertar del cementerio.
use this battery to boot the console into 'service mode' and force a read from the modified memory stick. this in turn allows you to flash your PSP with custom firmware. There is no other alternative for a slim with firmware 3.90, as sony's latest firmware with a known exploit is before the slims' time. If your slim happens to be a TA-85V2, you are out of luck and need someone else to make your memory stick and battery.. if its not you can lift your EEPROM chip ground pin in the battery and make the memory stick with your non-modified PSP. |

look at the mainboard revision or boot with a setup pandoras battery. only difference is the 85V2 psps can NOT make a pandora battery - you need to use another PSP or lift the EEPROM chip of the battery.
